Our review
Decent big-hit performance and serious strength at a fair price, but very heavy

Marzocchi’s 66 was one of the original really-big-hit single crown forks, and it’s still a frontline freerider.

It’s a serious piece of fork with an all-up weight of 3.2kg that puts it firmly into the play rather than comp category.

The mechanically preloaded coil sprung internals give it a predictable and super smooth feel right through the long 180mm stroke.

The squelchy-sounding but wide-ranging and effective RC3 cartridge gives plenty of tuning options, from ground sucker to long drop swallower.

While the two-handed axle and air valve adaptors are still a pain, Marzocchi have spent a lot of time and effort correcting previous production issues. That hopefully means a return to reliable form this year.
