Last year’s best long-travel single-crown fork, the Wotan gets even smoother for 08. The big lowers get the stiffness benefits of Magura’s dual arch design and the two-position Maxle locks the wheel in simply for sharp steering and deflection-free control.
The Albert Select damping has better speed sensitivity for 2008 too. It’s butter smooth and free from traction ripples. You can add adjustable low speed platform damping for cornering/braking through the Albert Select twist cap.
The supplied Flight Control remote drops travel to 120mm (4.7in) for climbing, and while the new lever is a bit fragile, it’ll break rather than stick you in a crash. The only downside is relatively high weight, but if you can handle that it’s one of the best forks available.
