Well-made, long-lasting and good value. They’re even pretty sexy

These Centerlock-only SLX discs have the looks of XT or XTR, but at a significantly lower price. What they don’t have is the Ice-Tec rotor with its aluminium core – this is a plain steel version pinned to a strong alloy carrier. Their rock-shucking rigidity is noticeable, even in the largest of the 160/180/203mm sizes.

Fitting is simplicity itself, provided you have a deeply recessed cassette tool (the official one, with clearance for rear hubs, is £20). Calliper adjustment is easy thanks to zero warp, while feel and power are consistent even with budget brakes. A quality rotor.
