SRAM’S new levers not only work smoothly, but they’re a potential cure for a lot of aero frame and wheel issues caused by the latest technology. The long levers mean a positive leverage feel under your fingers, so even fast or slippery descents needn’t make you nervous. The smooth pivot arrangement and separate brake cable anchor collar also gives smooth, rattle-free feedback.
They’re light at 116g for a set, too. However, what sets these brakes apart is up to 8mm of brake adjustment through the internal cable guide. Loosen the front lever section, spin it round until the cable tension is right, then fix it back into its aero position. This is really useful on the latest ultra aero bikes with their often-tortuous specialist brake routing.
