There’s a bit of buzz about quality ‘alternative brand’ external bottom brackets right now, and Gusset’s EXT24 is one of the best value.
It rolls on cartridge bearings, and uses forged and CNC-machined cups in a variety of colours. Even the spacers are made from alloy. It withstands stress and big impacts well.
We’ve used ours with Race Face and FSA cranks using the 24mm axle, but it will also fit Shimano, Truvativ and other similar cranks, on both 68 and 73mm shells.

There’s a better quality ceramic bearing option at nearly twice the price, but to be honest, the standard option is more than good enough and a pretty great alternative to own-brand external bottom brackets.
