Kinesis MaxLight XC Pro 2 review

Kinesis MaxLight XC Pro 2 review

The MaxLight XC Pro 2 is the 2006 version of the frankly excellent 05 model. It was (and still is) one of the most comfortable and efficient cross-country race hardtails we've ever ridden.

The latest version of the XC Pro 2 looks set to be just as impressive

The MaxLight XC Pro 2 is the 2006 version of the frankly excellent 05 model.

It was (and still is) one of the most comfortable and efficient cross-country race hardtails we've ever ridden. The XC Pro 2 is set to be even better. Still retailing at £399, the Kinesium alloy-framed bike has an integrated headset to lower the front end a touch and also neatened up dropouts. However, the biggest change is the addition of carbon fibre 'tuned' seatstays that allow for a degree of vertical compliance, not that last year's version was uncomfortable. The graphics have been updated to make the frame look a bit sharper too.
