Ultra-light with a wide field of vision. Ideal on the road

With their frame-free design, the SGLs offer the maximum field of vision without distortion. The Variomatic lenses are quick to react to changes in light (great when riding from a bright day into a tunnel, for example) and also have a surface treatment for anti-fogging and easy cleaning.

They're made of an unbreakable material so they won’t shatter in the event of a crash, and give 100 per cent protection from UVA, UVB and UVC. We tested the smoke finish lens but a brown tinted version is also available.

At only 23g the frame-free SGLS are among the lightest specs we’ve ever tested – we kept finding ourselves checking that they were still on! – but thankfully they aren’t as fragile as they look. The arms are highly flexible and have taken any abuse we’ve thrown at them.

The shape is brilliant, with a face-fitting curve, and you can also tailor the fit with the adjustable nose bridge and inherent flex in the arms – just bend them in or out to get the ideal fit for your head shape. We had no issues with fogging either.

Uvex include a soft bag for cleaning, a hard case and a retention strap. The latter was pretty much redundant because the arm fit is so good, but for off-road riding or snow sports it should come in handy.
