There’s no getting away from just how big the lenses are – and how big the field of vision is as a result – on Adidas’s new Evil Eye Evo Pros. Although each lens is fully encased, they’re so deep that you don’t ever notice the frame, which is great on the trail.
Lens changes are a doddle thanks to the Quick Change Lens system – simply slide the logo badge to the side of the lens back to unlock it and then pop it out of the frame. The malleable nose piece and flexible arms equipped with rubberised gripper pads mean the fit is both comfortable and secure, even when belting across super-rough terrain. We tried the Evo Pros with a variety of helmets and had no significant issues with the fit with any of them.
Like Adidas’s other Evil Eye glasses, the Evo Pros come equipped with a removable ‘sweat blocker’ that clips in above the lenses and does a decent job of keeping moisture out of your eyes. Even in the grittiest conditions the amount of coverage and close fit meant we got next to nothing in our eyes. The limited venting does mean that on wet but warm days you need to keep moving to prevent fogging.
