The Chrono Expert sits mid-way between Giro’s Pro and Sport ranges, and the fit is a happy medium between the second-skin fit of the Pro level kit and the more relaxed Sport fit.

The jersey uses Giro’s ‘Renew’ recycled polyester, made from fishing nets, ocean debris and other plastics. The fabric is lightweight and the jersey has mesh side panels to further aid ventilation.
It features mid-length raglan sleeves with folded cuffs and no gripper, and they remained in place pretty well. Giro has added subtle reflective detail to the sleeves, as well as on the back, too.
The traditional high collar sat well and a zip garage eliminated any irritation issues. Three large rear pockets and a zipped valuables pocket provided ample stash volume; the outer pockets aren’t angled but nevertheless they aren’t overly tricky to access. It’s well cut, fits true to size and comes in a wide range of colours.
The matching Chrono Expert bib shorts are also made from Giro’s recycled fabrics. The legs, which are on the longer side, hugged the thighs and offered light compression.
Wide compression-style leg grippers with elasticated fibres, neatly woven into the fabric, kept the legs in place without digging in. Mesh upper bibs with wide straps sat comfortably and did a top job of keeping me cool and sweat-free.
Inside, the soft, anatomically shaped Elastic Interface Chrono Expert chamois pad is well positioned and felt comfortable from the off. It provided ample padding where I needed it most and has tiny air channels and holes for added ventilation and to help wick sweat away.
These are a well-made pair of bib shorts that deliver all-day comfort.
