Revised for 2010, Fox have made the Sergeant short a little longer, so it now sits just below the knee rather than on it, and also a little fuller in line with the all-mountain trend for roomy shorts.
It comes with a detachable liner which is Fox’s best yet and works well enough. But as ever, using liners is down to personal preference.
The shorts themselves are a soft, smooth, slightly stretchy polyester mix fabric. This wears well, dries fast but doesn’t crease, so they look smart even if they’ve been balled up in a bag.
The classic cargo pocket layout works well for trail riding, and with belt loops and waist adjustment there’s no reason for you to have fit issues.
You’ll either love or loathe the digital lightning camo pattern – as we’re calling it. We’d like a plain khaki pair, but then we’re old. Extra features include MP3 player routing and a hidden lens wipe cloth.
