The BL Zip is pitched as a base layer rather than a jersey, but it doesn’t look out of place when worn on its own.
Contrasting and contoured side panels add some visual interest and, more importantly, contribute to a slim fit with no excess material.
Given its base layer provenance, the BL Zip is unsurprisingly light on features. But a high collar is always welcome, and the suitably long sleeves and back mean no bits of you stick out to catch a chill.
The brushed polyester fabric has a soft feel and strikes a good warmth balance, although it isn’t windproof and does let the chill through.
Combined with a lightweight gilet, you’ve got the makings of a decent combo for reasonably still days. The jersey also has wicking properties, so if it turns out to be a warmish autumn, you won’t boil.
