The Paragon is UK brand Lusso’s top-end jersey and is pricier than many of its other offerings. For your money, you get a sustainable, smooth Italian fabric and the brand’s handmade quality.
The material is a mix of 75 per cent polyamide and 25 per cent elastane, which gives a stretchy and form-fitting feel.
Four colourways are available, with sizes ranging from XS to XXL.
Although it misses more breathable mesh fabrics, the Paragon otherwise performs very well.
Lusso Paragon Jersey specification
The jersey’s three open and one phone-friendly zipped pocket are secure and sizeable enough for stashing food and a cycling jacket on all-day excursions.
The raw-cut sleeves, zipper garage and well-finished inner with minimal stitching continue, meanwhile, continuing the theme of endurance riding in comfort.
Lusso Paragon Jersey performance
The above features ensure the Paragon scores well on comfort, the materials sitting softly on the skin.
I found the minimal, tidily finished seams proved chafe-free for comfortable riding without a baselayer.
The full-length gripper around the waist, similar to that used on Lusso’s Paragon bib shorts, held the jersey securely when I was in the drops.
Likewise, the raw-cut sleeves kept the arms in place with minimal fuss and creasing.
With perforated or meshed areas absent, however, there are more vented and lighter cycling jerseys for riding in the mid-summer heat or tackling the hills.
Lusso Paragon Jersey bottom line
Mancunian brand Lusso regularly impresses with its classy yet well-priced kit, and that vein of form continues with the Paragon jersey.
It's well made and comfortable to wear, with secure zipped pockets.
You'll need to look elsewhere for a jersey suited to the hottest days, though.
