Appealing on paper, but disappointing to use: noisy and sweaty

The Castelli Sottile looks flash and is practically intangible, it’s so light. The price isn’t bad either. But it’s a bit disappointing in use.

A zip in the seam allows access to your jersey pockets but, for Castelli, it’s poorly finished and feels flimsy. The collar on our large size was too small to zip up. The material is waterproof, but the main zip isn’t.

It's not very windproof, annoyingly flappy and noisy at speed, and lacks ventilation at the back. It’s obviously designed for ‘emergency’ use as it gets pretty sweaty after a very short time.
