Our review
Roomy, good looking jacket with reasonable riding performance

Royal Racing's Explorer Jacket is a sorted weather-beating newbie from Steve Peat's own clothing brand. It's not the fastest breathing mac around, but big pit vents and wide mouth sleeves help keep you cool before condensation gets too clammy.

It only leaks under the worst downpours though, and big wrist tabs and a cord lock collar and hem keep it well sealed. There's no fleecy collar cosiness but all zips are tabbed for gloved pulling and shoulders are reinforced for crash survival.

Its utility is improved by an internally ported Pod pocket on the chest, twin hand pockets on the front and internal map pockets. Overall styling is totally streetproof and it's sized to work over big bellies, biceps or armour without affecting mobility.
