Seriously snug, but it’s sweaty and pretty expensive, too

Like Gore and Cannondale, the high price of the Pearl Izumi Gavia jacket buys you a multi-panel cut in a variety of stretchy fabrics.

This gives the Gavia a figure-hugging fit for minimum flap and maximum sweat transfer. Protection from the AmFIB face fabric is good too, with impressive water run-off.

Super fluffy fleece feels luxurious but lingering wetness is noticeable, particularly across the back. You'll really feel the warmth difference between these sweaty bits and the thinner bits on the backs of the sleeves and centre back.

Triple pockets give handy storage and non-roadies will be relieved it comes in mustard, black and blue options, too. Pearl gear is generally really long-lasting, but then we reckon that it should be at this price.
