Get a decent all-round weatherproof pack jacket and donate to charity at the same time

A decent packaway multisport jacket with all profits going to a great cause? Sounds like a must-have anorak to us.

The Lite-Speed is one of many reasonably breathable weatherproof and lightweight jackets on the market. The adjustable cowl hood keeps you dry when running, spectating or waiting for mates to turn up, and rolls up easily for biking.

While it flaps a bit on the road bike, the long body and sleeves mean there are no gaps to cause cold spots. The Velcro stormflap with waterproof zip keeps weather and wind out well too.

The Entrant DT fabric isn’t lined, so it can feel chilly if you get a sweat on and cool, but it breathes okay for medium exercise levels.

Long zipped chest pockets with mesh back work fine as vents, and it packs into an orange-sized stuff sack. The real hook is that over half the cost goes direct to Mountain Rescue units in England and Wales.
