When the weather gets tough, Endura get going. The MT500 is a jacket for the worst conditions, when it could be argued that you should really be sat at home with a nice cup of tea.
The hard singleshell Cordura Nylon construction is very waterproof and adequately breathable, and uses a PTFE coating that can be reactivated with an iron after washing.
Inside, the lining is comfy against skin and stretchy cuffs hug your wrists to stop wind howling into the jacket. Waterproof zips, taped seams throughout, hook-and-loop cuffs and a lengthy drop tail complete the wet weather defence.
Up top there’s a full storm hood, which despite being too small to go over a helmet and too big to go under one is a godsend when emergency trailside repairs are required in wet and windy conditions.
The hood features two perforated sections on each side at eye level, which help increase your peripheral vision, although they do allow the wind to irritatingly whistle through when riding at speed.
The waterproof vent zippers are compatible with backpack straps and can also be used as cargo pockets. The useful chest pocket is ideal for a mobile phone and there’s another small pocket on the left forearm.
