Our review
Good idea but we have reservations about the fit

Converting from a jacket to a jersey with a lightweight windproof front and a breathable back, the Altura Transformer is a versatile piece of kit for cooler days.

The windproof sleeves and upper section across the top of the shoulders are removable as a single piece, with a zip and a popper each side, and can be stored in one of the three main jersey pockets. Handily there’s also a smaller zipped pocket for valuables.

We found that when worn alone the jersey was comfortable, with the natural stretch in the material giving a close but unrestrictive female-specific fit, and a gel gripper along the base of the top works well to keep it in place.

However, when worn as a jacket we found the sleeves came up short and it felt tight across the shoulders, especially when riding on the drops.

Reflective patches are large and well-placed – thoughtfully Altura have placed them on the sleeves of the jacket and jersey. Also available in pink, and a men’s version too.
