Ultra light, packable and minimalist, the pocketless Altura still performed very well in the waterproof test, with neither the material nor the seams allowing water through. And while the zip isn’t waterproof the inch-wide internal flap proved an effective barrier to stop water getting in.
But the main feature of this top is its light weight – just 157g for the large – its extreme packability (it comes with its own stuff sack) and the large reflective patches on the front of the shoulders and lower back; choose the yellow version for added brightness. A top for those who travel light in every sense.
