Our review
A bit bunchy but otherwise full of useful features

The Ruckus Freeride glove from Sombrio has been designed with clear intentions. The backs are constructed from abrasion resistant corded nylon with rubberised detailing as well as a printed Sombrio graphic.

The Maxkin palm is also abrasion resistant and has a secondary layer to cover key wear areas such as the base of the fingers and heel of the palm. There’s a Terry Moss thumb panel, a small padded area at the heel of the palm, which helped add comfort. The gloves were reasonably warm even on cold days thanks to the medium weight backs.

We did find the two-layer palm bunched slightly as our medium sample seemed to come up larger than most others we’ve tried. We do like the neoprene cuff, which does away with the need for velcro closures, offering a relaxed yet secure fit when on the trail.
