On their website, Pow claim: "This glove will pull chicks." Well, maybe we're not wearing them right because the only attention we've been getting is a good ribbing from our mates.
The Shocker is mainly white but with lurid pink fore- and middle fingers and a brown little finger – think Neopolitan ice cream, unless you know the hand position these gloves are named after, in which case you're probably already smirking.
Turn them over, and the palm's even more lairy, with a glossy, opinion-dividing design featuring a winged skull and lightning bolts.
They're made from ultra-thin four-way corded stretch nylon, which gives a good mix of durability and ventilation, while the fingers are reinforced with Neoprene. The unpadded palm is made of Clarino synthetic leather.
Out in the hills, the glove is comfortable, with a snug fit and the minimal palm providing good trail feedback. The shiny silicone palm print is surprisingly grippy in the dry but doesn't fare so well in the wet.
Being mainly white they get dirty extremely quickly, and once you get grease or oil on them there's little chance of ever getting it out. The pink fingers mean it's difficult to find any jersey they don't clash with, and there's no snot wipe.
There are better gloves out there at this price, but then, if you're buying these it's probably for the shock value, not the performance.
