Good design would be great with an extra light strip and a better switch

This design brings the old-fashioned Sam Browne belt into the 21st century. Integral to the traditional reflective yellow harness are two light strips powered by a pair of AAA batteries.

The harness doubles as the battery compartment and slides securely together in seconds. It looks a little plasticky and I thought it might be restrictive, but it wasn't, and only the low-level beeping when in flashing mode made me conscious of it.

The lights are activated via a rubberised switch, which requires quite a bit of pressure to activate and only has the one flashing mode.

It's very unobtrusive, the light strips really make you stand out and battery life seems good, still going strong after 40-plus hours (although as a precaution I put a slither of Vaseline on the contacts). It's a good design but could be improved with a diagonal lighting strip across the back.
