The Polaris Sirius is a value for money mid-layer that’s great when worn with a base layer or under a shell jacket. Its no-fuss, no-frills approach just gets the job done.
The ergonomic cut is good and we liked the snug yet unobtrusive collar. The half zip allows for easy venting and temperature regulation, while the elastic cuffs and waist help keep the garment in place without resorting the luxury of rubberised grippers.
Out on the trail it’s warm and snug, helped by the polyester Thermastretch fabric that wicks sweat away from the skin well. Even when pushing hard, we never felt that it was overcome.
Reflective detailing on the back and sides help with night-time visibility. Our only gripe is that the right-hand rear stash pocket has a narrow entry that makes it fiddly for hands to access.
The top is also available in blue. It may not be flash, but this is good value for a well-rounded mid-layer
