Allsport Dynamics specialise in ankle and wrist braces that are designed to get riders back in action as soon as possible while reducing the chance of further injury. The OH2 is a full-featured brace with an adjustable stop to limit extension.
It also has a twin hinge system to allow for up/down and side-to-side movement. Different liners are available, from an ultra secure lace-up option to the Speed version that we used, along with a range of sizes that correlate with glove and wrist size. The quality is great, and once the stop is set up and you have the brace on, it feels really good.
If, like us, you’ve broken a wrist in the past you’ll probably find it copes fine with most riding but there are moments on the bike when you wish you had a bit of extra support – when riding bigger terrain on downhill bikes or hitting the jumps up at the BMX track, for example. That’s where this brace shines.
We’ve used other supports, and although they’ve been pretty good, they offer nowhere near the support that the Allsport Dynamics brace does. For people coming back from bad breaks, it’s a no-brainer. Fitting can be awkward with thicker gloves but there’s a glove customisation programme offered, which is a great idea.
