Uvex’s new Quatro Trail is a tough, high-protection option for riders who like to be able to really tweak their helmet fit.
The deep EPS liner gets a particularly hard outer shell that’s shrugged off scuffs, drops and even a lip-splitting faceplant without obvious damage. The big protective overhang and flip-up peak probably saved us from a smashed snout too.
The big squared vents are covered with bug mesh at the front but ventilation is still good, even on low-speed technical climbs. The inner cradle can be adjusted for height and the beard friendly padded chin strap uses an adjustable ratchet instead of a buckle.
There’s an optional camera mount that attaches to the top vents, and a little extra outlay gets you the Quatro Pro with an extra ‘whale tail’ spoiler at the back. Despite the chunky looks, the Quatro Trail’s weight is competitive and the pricing is good too.
