The Grenade Pro kneepads from Scott combine the malleable, shock-absorbing goodness of d3o material wrapped in a tailored, ultra tough, vented neoprene construction to produce some of the comfiest knee guards we’ve ever worn. Like many of the more expensive kneepads on the market, the Grenade Pros have a designated right and left pad, and from our experience this really tunes the fit. There are two Velcro straps to keep them in place, one at the top and one at the bottom – a simple but effective system.
The d3o padding moulds to your knee for a super comfy fit, and there’s a decent amount of more traditional EVA padding either side of the knee to bolster protection further. The Grenade Pros also articulate really well while you’re pedalling, remaining securely in place without a hint of slippage even once we’d got a sweat on. We’ve worn them for both downhill duties and tamer trail riding, and they soaked up the abuse admirably. They’ve firmly established themselves as our go-to kneepads.
