The Forcefield Zeus knee protectors use a combination of malleable NeT CE approved padding and foam inserts in selected areas to keep your knees safe if you hit the deck.
There’s a Velcro strap at the top and bottom of each pad, so they can be cinched up tight, while inside there are silicone gripper dots around either end to improve purchase. Our medium sized sample came up a little baggy, so we’d opt to go down a size for a snugger fit.
Coverage is good, with a decent amount of the NeT padding covering the knee and upper shin, with foam inserts on the inside and outside of the knee. The Zeus is surprisingly breathable compared to similar offerings.
Pad articulation is good when pedalling, although they bunched up a bit, causing them to flair out and snag shorts. The Velcro strap – the bottom one in particular – tended to twist in on itself, making things uncomfortable.
A wider strap that’s properly fixed around the entire pad rather than just at one end could well help this problem. Although protection is good we’d expect more in terms of comfort for this cash.
