Our review
Comfy pads offering good protection, and they stay where you put ’em

The fleece-backed Neoprene construction of these Bluegrass Bobcat knee pads is comfy, and the open back design combined with perforated cuffs where the two straps loop round provides some airflow and, more importantly, not much bunching. While the sides do concertina, they do so away from your knees.

The protection is a mix of a soft outer and a thin yet flexible hard inner section with plusher padding next to skin. After a rocky slow-speed impact our tester punched a small hole in the soft outer; the crash would otherwise have caused a big hole in his knee. A more expensive version is also available that uses malleable d3o for protection.
