Our review
A bit heavier and larger than Giro’s more expensive lids, but comfortable and rock solid

The Rift surpassed all of our expectations. With its sub-£50 price tag and mushroom head profile, we didn’t expect much. What surprised us was how comfortable it is out on the trail.

It’s a little warmer than a more expensive lid with more vents, but was perfectly fine as long as you kept moving forward to keep the air flowing.

The Acu-Dial fit system does a good job of locking the helmet down, without giving any pressure headaches, and was a cinch to adjust on the fly.

Click-lock strap adjusters make helmet fitting easy and the strap positioning actually makes them more comfortable than some of Giro’s more expensive helmets.

In-moulding design gives a tough outer skin, although it lacks the lower coverage of the two-piece shell of more expensive helmets. A number of colourways are available, including this Livestrong associated black and yellow.
