BELL VENTURE review

BELL VENTURE review

The less you pay, the less clever shaping you can expect, but the Venture is still a slick looking lid. Rear/top vents aren't quite as big as the Indicator's and the simple peak partially blocks the front vents, which reduces air intake at higher speeds.

Large fit, but all the basic features and performance you need

The less you pay, the less clever shaping you can expect, but the Venture is still a slick looking lid. Rear/top vents aren't quite as big as the Indicator's and the simple peak partially blocks the front vents, which reduces air intake at higher speeds.

Deep internal channels actually give it as good or even slightly better wind flow than its Giro brother though, and the peak still keeps the weather off. You get anti bush/bug mesh in the front lower vents, too. Slim removable 'sausage' pads, floating headband cradle and fit adjust system are the same as the Indicator, but with a different look to the back block.

'Universal' fit design means the same shell wobble too, but the overlapped strap buckle is less likely to bite your chin/beard. Exposed polystyrene on rear/ lower needs care not to deteriorate fast, though. It's slightly heavier than the Indicator but still very light and, for our money, performance is close enough to make the £5 cheaper price the most significant aspect.
