Excellent leg warmers that'll earn their keep in your wardrobe

It's difficult to get excited about a pair of leg warmers but there's no hiding the fact that they're a seriously useful piece of kit.

These offerings from Trek are fashioned from a medium weight Roubaix fabric, warm enough to be useful right through the winter and light enough to be stowed in a back pocket for potentially chilly spring or autumn rides.

A discreet reflective logo at the ankle helps drivers see you from the rear. The shortish zip is a little tight, but that's my only gripe. The silicone grippers are excellent, and the panel construction around the knee stops the fabric from bunching up. Suffice to say I haven't worn full tights since I've had these for testing: they're more versatile and comfortable than my other winter gear, and they'll even go under your baggies for a winter MTB blast.

They're quite pricey compared to some other recognised brands, but you won't be disappointed if you decide to splash out.
