The Giant TCR Advanced Pro Disc is the bike of the future… that’s at least what our senior road tech writer, Matthew Allen thinks.

We can hear the cries of anguish already — but it has a seat tube! You still have to pedal the damn thing?! Where’s all my integrated (not) goodies?!

No, the race bike of the future is likely to look similar to the TCR Advanced Pro Disc as disc brakes, thru-axles and generous clearances increasingly become the norm.

As Matthew says in the video, the bike is best thought of as a distillation of all the tasty new tech available on the market today and is a sign of things to come.

The TCR Advanced Pro Disc is innovative in other ways too, coming set up tubeless straight out of the box. While road tubeless is yet to catch on in a huge way with either the peloton or consumers (we’re still on the fence), Giant is clearly betting on its future dominance with this race machine.

But how does this race weapon perform on the road? Matthew has been putting some miles on the bike and you can check out our video to see how the bike really performed.

Is the Giant TCR Advanced Pro Disc the bike of the future? Our tester Matthew thinks so
