It’s pricey but you get lots of useful measurements, including cadence, and we’ve had no interference at all to the 2.4GHz digital wireless signal. On top of all the basic features, there’s a 50-lap stopwatch, an interval timer that allows you to program in differing periods of work and rest, and a backlight.
Setting up the Neuro is a simple job. The head unit fits to either your bar or a steerer tube mount while the speed sensor picks up from your rear wheel so you can get a reading when you’re on the turbo.
Just program in your wheel size from the list of pre-selected options or measure its circumference for greater accuracy, pair up the sensors with the computer and you’re away. The four lines of information are clear enough and navigation is a cinch. The buttons are chunky enough to hit easily, even with gloved fingers.
You can add a heart rate monitor chest strap (£39.99) and an extra sensor kit for a second bike (£39.99) – which the computer automatically recognises when you swap it over. Overall, you get a great spread of useful functions in an upgradeable package.
