The Skid Lid certainly puts a spin on the pisspot look.
The crazy-looking vents do a fine job, although it isn't the comfiest or best-fitting lid out there because it seems narrower than the rest. The high-density ABS shell does a good job of taking the knocks and bumps, though. The good ventilation and reasonable price also bode well for the Skid Lid and if it's a unique look you want, this might be the helmet for you.
