Padlocks and chains usually occupy the upper price regions, which is why when we saw the price of this chain we thought it was a mistake. Only on closer inspection did we see something was amiss: the padlock seemed impossibly light (less than half of the others on test).
It was therefore deemed the first place to attack. Once we'd smashed off the plastic padlock casing it was simply held together with a fold of light alloy. We simply pulled this open with some small pliers and the lock came apart in our hands. It may seem like a bargain, but we couldn't recommend this padlock for its purpose. The chain was of a nice quality though.
