Compact and light but still bright enough to perform

Silva’s new Pavé bike light punches a claimed 550-lumen white light hole into the darkness.

What’s really noteworthy is how small and lightweight the unit doing the punching really is. The head unit, battery plus Velcro pouch/strap/short lead weighs just under 200g – impressive. We tended to use the short coil wound lead to fit the matchbox-sized battery underneath the stem, but the longer lead is handy for helmet use.

The IPX6 splashproof rated, finned alloy head is just 3.5x4cm and houses two counter angled LEDs. The battery itself is a 2.4 Amp-hour 7.4v Li-ion unit. Toggle between the 2.5hr full blast, a 10-hour low/wide beam or 20-hour on blink.

It’s an ideal helmet/backup light, perfect for commuting. For weight fiends it’s got enough light for cross-country jaunts on trails you know.
