The innovative Folkslight from MyTinySun offers great power per pound in a convenient package, but needs a good aftermarket mount.
The camera-style light uses two LEDs behind changeable lenses to give a spot, flood or a combination of both. The letterbox-format output needs careful angling but get it right and you get good peripheral coverage for twisty trails with a more focused centre spot for good distance reach.
The mode switch button is awkward to reach but essential to nurse the short battery life. The light can be fixed to your bar with an O-ring or a GoPro mount, but with the O-ring it falls over immediately on the trail and even with a plastic GoPro mount it droops after the first drop – you need a metal K-Edge or similar mount for a secure, rattle free result.
