An excellent pack with some great features but the back system may not be to everyone’s liking

The Raptor is a slim pack that manages to fit in a lot of features. We're won over by magnetic valve holders, and the elasticated helmet retainer – a plate that pulls out and slips through the helmet’s vents – is a real joy.

The Raptor is a heavier bag before you pack it than others in this price range, but it’s built to last with impressive construction, although such quality doesn’t come cheap.

The pockets are well organised with dividers and a deep holder for a pump. The expanding outer pocket is great for stashing jackets so you can easily get at them and allows them to dry when wet.

Getting the bladder in and out can be a bit of fiddle due to the pack’s rigid back. However, the stiffness is integral to the design and meant that some testers didn’t get on with it in the comfort stakes while others did, so trying this otherwise excellent pack before you buy is a must. Using a soft bladder may also help.
