Clever design, but no real benefit over using gel sachets

This waterbottle contains a reservoir for carrying 60ml of energy gel (a typical sachet) alongside nearly 700ml of fluid. With the valve pushed in, you suck out the gel; with the valve out, you drink.

It’s a simple design that works well – the trouble is, it’s a solution to a problem that just doesn’t exist.

Many gels come in sachets that are already easy to use. Plus, the limited size of the reservoir means that you’re going to need more than one on longer rides, and then you’ll have to predict how much gel you’re going to use – you won’t be able to put it back into the sachets again if you overestimate.
