This exquisitely finished and very intricate bottle cage would make the perfect finishing touch to a much-prized classic. I was initially disconcerted by how easily it would bend, fearing that it might break, but this maul-ability allows a perfect fit around most bottle shapes.
Given these characteristics, I had feared it might eject bottles over rougher surfaces, but this proved unfounded - helped in no small part by the rib cage design - and unlike alloy units, it won't leave unsightly marks on your bottle. For those wanting an even more traditional cage, say for a '60s period bike, there's a T (Touring) version which is less ornate. However, look elsewhere if you lug tool pouches or lead acid bottle batteries around; there are more sturdy cages on the market for the same weight.
Those wanting to save weight might find carbon a better option, but it could be the perfect piece of functional jewellery for a special bike.
