Our review
Holds bottles tightly even on rough roads, and lifetime warranty shows it's built to last

No one will ever accuse the Blackburn Camber CF carbon bottle cage of being a bargain at US$39.99 apiece but it's still a fair bit cheaper than its premium-level competition, yet easily on par in terms of function.

Though just 30g, the feathery frame confidently holds a full large-sized bottle even on rough dirt roads with little chance of inadvertent ejection thanks to the relatively stiff arms and secure snap-fit top.

In fact, we've even had good luck with it on mountain bikes, though it's best to use only smaller bottles just to be safe (riders needing absolute security are still better served by Arundel's Dave-O or Mandible).

The particularly stout lower tab has held up to months of use with no signs of cracking – a common failure point on lesser carbon cages – and the flared and U-shaped opening makes for mindless no-look bottle loading.

The Camber CF is offered in both matte and glossy finishes depending on your preferences, and Blackburn's awesome lifetime unconditional warranty will net you a replacement if the thing does eventually fail for whatever reason (there's no exclusion clause for 'uncontrollable rage' – we checked).

Our sole gripe is that the Camber CF is only fitted with one set of mounting holes so buyers won't be able to fine-tune the bottle placement. Aside from that, it's an indulgence but at least it's one that actually works.
