Comfortable but poor weather resistance and adjustment

This padded courier bag is designed to carry a 17in – or smaller – laptop. It’s made from polyester and PVC, and with its taped seams it looks like it ought to be rainproof.

The material is, but the Velcro-and-buckled main flap isn’t big enough to cover the main compartment’s corners, and in a downpour we found water got in. The bag needs a drawstring closure too, or else a bigger flap.

The shoulder strap, meanwhile, is too long. You can shorten it mid-strap with two slides… but only until they butt up against the non-removable shoulder pad. There is a stabilising strap, at least, running from the main strap to either corner.

Other useful features include a reflective tab, a loop for an LED light and a Velcro strap to hang a D-lock from. There are plenty of pockets for stashing your gear and the overall capacity is vast – about 30 litres. The mesh-and-foam back is comfortable against your body even if it doesn’t noticeably affect heat build-up.
