Just about as good as no-compromise riding packs get

This Osprey pack is unusual in that it comes complete with its own sizing smart phone app – and weirdly that sort of sets the tone for the Raptor. Among many details, we particularly loved the roll-out tool area and work mat – an ingenious bit of space-saving that really aids maintenance.

When the weather is at it’s moistest, you can hang the Raptor from a tree, unfurl the roll and save getting your pack soaked. The roll is also removable too, should you need to throw it at a mate.

Osprey also specs its own bespoke bladder, which is designed to keep a consistent shape, the magnetised mouthpiece is a doddle to use when riding too. Even when caked with dirt, the mouthpiece snaps into place leaving you free to crack on with enjoying your ride. Other pluses included the helmet securing LidLock, the handy side pockets, the internal key clip and smaller outer pocket.

This is a great all-day pack for those who enjoy stowing the essentials as well as having some room to play with. If you want to give racing a go, the Raptor is light enough and more than tough enough to start hunting for valuable seconds too; it’s a complete performer.
