Grossglockner’s modular Protector pack has three separate components, each with a unique function. The core of the system is the back protection, which fits much like any trail rucksack, with two shoulder straps plus chest and waist strap to keep things secure.
The ergonomic design features a three-point contact system, which helps with air flow, keeps you cool and helps with shock dissipation. The back board gives near complete spine coverage and is made for maximum protection at minimum weight.
The add-on touring pack offers 10 litres of storage, which expands to 12 litres. This is secured to the back protector via six adjustable clips. The hydration pack fits the same way and holds a two-litre bladder that you need to buy separately.
This bag is a great idea for adventurous types but does have a habit of creeping up your back and occasionally interfering with the base of your lid if it isn't loaded.
