Zipp's 30th anniversary edition of its Super-9 Carbon Clincher Disc puts an old-school twist on its high-end time-trial wheel. This limited edition shares the same colours as the original Zipp Disc that the company launched 30 years ago.
It will be available in white, yellow, blue and magenta to match the original colours. Zipp also offers the option to personalise the wheel with a 35 character inscription by the valve hole.
If the traditional colours are too much, there will also be a more subdued black edition that mirrors the design of Zipp's contemporary NSW wheels.
The pro-proven wheel is optimised for aerodynamics. Interestingly, non-parallel brake tracks are claimed to improve airflow from tyre to wheel and the distinctive dimple pattern across the disc's surface is purported to reduce drag even further.
The Super-9 Disc wheel weighs in at 1,155g for the rim brake and 1,175g for the disc version.
The wheel retails for £2,169 / €2,429 / $,2875 and is available now.
