YT has introduced a range-topping Elite spec build of its popular Capra 29 enduro bike and Decoy enduro e-MTB.
The Elite builds are distinguished by top of the line Fox suspension components along with other upgrades that will appeal to racers or those who simply demand the best. Aesthetically speaking, the Elite builds can easily be identified by gold frame decals.
In typical YT direct sale fashion, the bikes manage to undercut boutique brands considerably.
YT Capra Elite 29
The 29in Capra is YT's most popular bike and this new Elite model now pips the existing Pro Race build as the most expensive on sale with a retail price of £5,399 / €5,999 / $5,999.
Paint aside, the Elite bike shares the same Capra 29 carbon frame with 170mm of travel and, just like those, it's available in sizes ranging from M-XXL. The 27.5 Capra is not available in an Elite build.
The suspension is the real reason that many buyers are going to be interested in this model, and there's a lot to be excited about. Up front there's the latest Fox 38 with 170mm of travel in its most spendy Float Factory configuration.
The fork is complemented by Fox's new Float X2 Factory air shock. YT says it's a unit that 'gives the rider the support and traction that the trail demands'.
The Capra Elite 29 features SRAM's latest X01 Eagle drivetrain complete with the newer 10-52t cassette. Elite spec Capras also see an upgrade to Maxxis tyres, with an aggressive Assegai (in 2.5in EXO flavour) at the front and the narrower, faster rolling 2.4in Minion EXO+ at the rear.
YT states a claimed weight of 14.9kg/32.8lbs for the Capra Elite 29 in an undisclosed size.

YT Decoy Elite
YT's electric enduro bike, the Decoy, also gets the Elite treatment.
At £6,399 / €6,999 / $6,999 the Decoy Elite is now the highest variation of the Decoy.
Its mullet-build comes in frame sizes S-XXL and although the frame and its STEPS E8000 motor and custom 540Wh battery remain unchanged, there's now gold decals to out the Elite as... well, elite.
The Decoy Elite wears the latest Fox 38 Float Factory in 170mm guise and that's mirrored by a Fox Float X2 Factory air can delivering 165mm of travel at the rear wheel.
There's also a 12-speed Shimano XT drivetrain, an in keeping Fox Transfer dropper seatpost, Crankbrothers Synthesis carbon wheels and a Maxxis Assegai/DHR II tyre combination.
Claimed weight is 22.9kg.
