Italian bike manufacturer Wilier Triestina has unveiled the two new models in their road and time trial ranges – the Zero 7 and the TwinFoil.
Available from mid-June, the Zero 7 will be, at under 800g for a medium size, the lightest road frame they’ve ever produced. They will be sold as complete bikes, for around £8,250, with Campagnolo Super Record groupset and Bora wheels. A limited number of framesets have been produced, with a further batch starting this summer.

Also new from Wilier is the TwinFoil, their ProTour time trial bike first used in the current Giro d’Italia by Team Lampre ISD. Central to its design is the principle of maximum clearance between the wheels and the forks, chainstays and seatstays. This supposedly minimises air turbulence and drag generated by rotating wheels.
The same idea is used for the brakes, with maximum clearance achieved while providing the best possible braking power. The rear brake is positioned beneath the chainstays under the botton bracket to shield it from the wind.
