Whyte has just announced a whole host of updates to its G-170 and S-150 enduro and trail bikes for 2019, with upgrades to specs and some slight tweaks to geometry across the board.

2019 Whyte G-170
The new G170 retains the super-low bottom bracket, stable ride-quality and generous reach that we loved when first it launched last year.
For 2019, the geometry has been tweaked slightly, adopting the same short fork offset first seen on the S-150 and further tweaks to the suspension kinematics.
Mud clearance has also been improved and the front triangle is large enough to accommodate a full-size bottle.
As we covered previously, the originally 27.5in-only G-170 range now also includes a 29er designed for the burliest riding. This is built around a coil shock.

2019 Whyte G-170 S
The entry level G-170 features an alloy frame, a SRAM NX Eagle groupset, a RockShox Yari RC fork and Whyte’s own finishing kit, including its own dropper post.
This comes in at £2,399.
2019 Whyte G-170C Works
The G-170C is the carbon version of the new bike and comes with a tasty build kit, with a SRAM X01 Eagle groupset, which is matched with SRAM Code RSC brakes, a RockShox Lyrik RC2 fork and Hope Pro 4 hubs that are laced to Whyte’s own 30mm wide carbon rims.
All of this carbon loveliness comes in at £5,250.
G-170C Works 29er
The 29er version has an almost identical build as the regular G-170C works but with the rims, tyres and fork all in 29in form.
2019 Whyte S-150
The S-150 is Whyte’s long-travel dedicated 29er platform that we’ve grown very fond of since it first launched last April.
The geometry of the 150mm travel bike remains unchanged for 2019 and retains the same short offset fork, but sees upgrades to the builds across the board.

2019 S-150 S
The entry-level S-150 is built around an alloy frameset and features a SRAM GX Eagle groupset, a RockShox Revelation RC fork with the aforementioned short offset and SRAM Guide T brakes.

2019 S-150C Works
The top-flight S-150 is built around a carbon frameset, a SRAM XX1/X01 mixed groupset, a RockShox Pike RCT3 fork, Whyte’s own 30mm-wide carbon rims laced to Hope Pro 4 wheels and SRAM Guide RSC brakes.
Such a dreamy build comes in at an understandably heady £4,999.
