Wahoo’s popular Elemnt Bolt GPS bike computer is now available in black, has dropped in price from £199.99 / €240 / $249 to £184.99 / €219.99 / $229.99 and has received several firmware updates that expand the unit's functionality, particularly with ebikes.
First and foremost, the computer is now available in an all-black colour – the most requested colour by Wahoo customers and athletes, according to the company. So it should fit in with your stealthy under-the-radar look.
The Bolt – and indeed all Elemnt computers from Wahoo – will be compatible with most ebikes after a firmware update. Compatible ebikes include models from Giant and Specialized, as well as any others that uses ANT+ LEV.
ANT+ is the industry-standard low-power wireless sensor communication protocol for fitness devices and the LEV suffix means Light Electric Vehicle, which is designed with ebikes and other urban mobility solutions in mind.
Key ebike metrics, including range, battery life, mode, etc can be displayed, and modified workout screens will be able to tell riders how much time they've spent in each of their ebike zones – and give estimated remaining range, according to Wahoo.
Wahoo has also dropped the cost of the unit by a considerable amount. The Elemnt Bolt is available for £184.99, which is £15 cheaper than its previous price. You can’t argue with that.

Other than that, the Elemnt Bolt remains unchanged.
When we reviewed the Bolt, we gave it 4.5 stars out of 5 for its excellent battery life, simple smartphone setup and integrated workouts.
