The perks of being a professional athlete are considerable. The glory, fame and prize money are the obvious ones but the simpler pleasures, such as being kitted out from head to toe in custom team wear, is surely satisfying.
This week members of the Team GB cycling team, including Sir Chris Hoy, Jess Varnish and Laura Trott, headed to Loughborough University for their 'kitting out' day. There they were sized up for the clothing they'll be wearing at this summer's Olympic Games, with the men receiving 59 items of the Adidas-made kit and the women 65 (and this doesn't include competition wear!).
In all, Adidas are issuing 175,000 garments across 349 styles in 23 sizes for the entire GB squad. Much of the kit, including the £7 sweat band Sir Chris is getting excited about in these photo booth shots above, is available now from the Olympic shop.
